Prescription Drug Addiction a Long-Time Problem for Michael Jackson

As early as 1993 Elizabeth Taylor spoke out about Michael Jackson’s addiction to prescription drugs. And now it has been confirmed that his drug addiction played a major role in his untimely death.

In an interview with Robin Roberts from ABC, Janet Jackson stated that the family tried to stop Michael’s addiction on a number of occasions. “Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can’t just let them continue on that way. And we did a few times. We weren’t very successful,” she says.

Jackson of course is not alone – there is a long list of celebrities who have overdosed on prescription drugs. And their families feel the effects just a much as any other family.
